Through a Yellow Lens

Details

I shot this roll of film through a yellow flash gel. Yellow and orange filters are a great way to add some contrast to your B&W photos. I expected the imperfections of the gel to give these photos a dreamy feel, but they came out surprisingly sharp!

Astrum is Underrated

Details

Astrum Foto 400 (also known as Svema 400) is an excellent 400-speed film with fine grain and solid contrast. Just be sure to store and load it in the dark as it can suffer from a “light piping” issue. These photos were taken around Halifax and Dartmouth, NS.

They’re overdeveloped, so what?

Details

These photos were taken in Halifax and Dartmouth NS, from my first roll of film using a half-frame camera. I developed these during a heat wave, and tried to appropriately adjust the development time for 27 degrees Celsius, from the recommended 20 degrees. I failed.
